We're proud of our heritage!
Founded in a cottage basement during the late 1800s Morreys of Holmes Chapel started out as a drapers supplying the needs of its small village.
As the village of Holmes Chapel grew the business rose up from its basement beginnings to become a 2 storey department store. Product ranges grew and our reputation for great service and dedication was the foundation of the businesses success.
It was here at 8-10 the square, Holmes Chapel where Morreys played a key part in the community for 140 years. A household name commonly known as an "Aladdins Cave", Morreys even featured in a ranking for the top 100 retail outlets in the world!
In 2013 Morreys saw it biggest change yet. With owners Mr & Mrs D. Morrey looking to retire the business was taken on by Mr Andrew Maddock and his Wife Sue. Having been employed at Morreys since the age of 15 Andrew had been a key factor in the businesses success and sought to see it continue to flourish.
Summer 2013 saw our relocation to larger more modern premises on the Holmes Chapel Business Park. The improved layout allowed for further expansion to our product ranges and the development of our now flourishing trade supply departments.
